Want a permanent fix? No shit, try some Brasso. Takes ALL the yellow out, and makes em clear again. after that, use some decent quality wax on the plastic to protect them. about every other time you wash the car, wax them again. By hand. Its worked for my headlights/inners/outers for 3 years now.
All hail Project "Marauder" !

Are you guys taking the headlights apart and polishing the inside and outside of the lens? If so could you post some info on how you are getting them apart and reassembling them.
Thanks

I can tell you how I did it Ron. I got a boxcutter and with the blade cut around the seam where the lens is glued to the housing. When I got most of the glue out, the lens just popped off. You might not have to do that though, because sometimes you can just pull them apart by hand depending on how old the glue is. If I want to experiment with something I go to the junk yard. If you use a knife of any kind, BE CAREFUL!
BTW, I cleaned up my lenses by making a quick swipe right on the lens with acetone, then used a light abrasive polish on them. Good as new.

I have only done one so far. After getting the lens off I had to polish the hell out of both sides with Brasso to get it "clearer" then used Mcquires cleaner wax to take out the little scratches. I used a drop of super glue on the corners and sealed with rtv. I also painted the inside of enclosure with metallic silver paint. Once back together I wiped outside of lens with Tire Wet. Doesnt look new, but it is a huge improvement. On a side note, after I had done the one I was out of time so I couldn't perform the same steps to the other side. I sprayed Tire wet on that one and it is almost as clear as the one that I did all the work to. I wonder how long it will last. Smile

Thanks for the tips. Wink

Another idea would be to do what i did:
I wanted to tint my headlights so i did alot of research and found it too expensive for my budget to have it professionally done. So i found RVinyl.com and they sell vinyl tint kits to put over the headlight in light or dark (i got light) with a 3/5 year warranty(i can't remember). Then i had to work on getting the yellow away so i used sand paper to wet sand off all the yellow and DOT markings/injection molds. At that point they were completely white, but cloudy. This problem was solved by putting on the tint kit. It gave it a slightly tinted look WITH completely clear and clean looking head/tail lights. (i did all 10 head/tail/marker lights) All this for about $50.
