Took the TurboCoupe apart this weekend and got the Intercooler Mounted. Now I know why body shops get paid so much.
Ended up with a slight problem with the safety latch on the hood hitting the new IC bracket, but I believe that will be an easy fix.
HERE are the pictures. I can't figure out how to make images from putfile to show up here.
How's it look?
I'm really curious to hear what someone else thinks of it. I've never built anything like this before.
I was worried it would look like a hack job. Looks better than I thought it would.
The aluminum was expensive... ended up spending like $40 give/take on the aluminum and various screws/bolts, but Aluminum was much easier to work with than steel would've been... considering I used a hack saw for all the cutting Big Grin
I may take the bracket back off and paint it flat black.

And Sunday, there was a flyby over the neighborhood (see photos :])

Must be a big problem, you had to call in troops Big Grin
I hope you have a good cooling fan. The stock fan on that model won't pull through everything very well.

I think mine was thrown together without a ton of thought and considering that yours looks way better then mine does Smile

definately thumbs up on that, gives me some motivation to spend some time making mine little better and nicer design

Looks good! That intercooler appears to be a very popular choice lately. Now the question - how do you like the performance???

I rebuilt the bracket/brace in the front of the car.
I had to cut it up to get the IC in...
The safety latch catches it and it hooks to the nose so i figured it should stay.
I decided it needed to be hooked to the bottom like it was before.

Overkill? ...maybe. but it was fun Big Grin

Lookin at the pictures, I may not have needed to cut as much of the brace off as I did, but what's done is done.
You get an idea of where the bumper/grill will be now with it back on. The flat/horizontal part mounts to the top of the bumper with the grill directley above it. Most, if not all of the IC will be behind the bumper. Between the electric fans and airflow from the car moving, I don't think this will be an issue.

...now for the plumbing...
