I bought an '88 TC with no rear end and a bad automatic transmission. I had a 3:73 rear from an 87 and everything from the '87 to do the 5 speed conversion. I finally got finished and the car runs very well & has no leaks of any kind; however,I have a couple of problems. When I let the clutch out I get a bad rear lamp indicator on the message sentry. When I turn the headlights on I get a bad front light also when I let the clutch out. My interior lights on the rear roof pillars come on any time the switch is on. What is supposed to turn them on? And last but not least, is there a separate wiring harness (different from the automatic transmission harness) for the back up lights? My transmission was from a TC but did not have any wiring. I had the harness from a Mustang but it does not fit the car harness.

I can answer part of this. The rear pillar lights have a switch at the rear of the center console, right where the rear ashtray is.

Thanks Joe. Anyone else with ideas about my other problems? I am thinkig of putting the shunt back in instead of plugging the clutch switch in. The clutch switch does work though...
