Where would the feul filter be located on a 88 turbo coupe
88TC - Stinger 3" DP, 3" single dynomax bullet,31x12x4 FMIC 3" alum pipe, fakie Turbo XS bov, 255lph walbro and Turbosmart boost controller running 15lbs

Underneath, in front of the fuel tank, on the pass side. Go in just in front the the rear tire

turbo "whine" is usually a sign of impending turbo death..it means the wheel(s) are rubbing the housing(s)

I thought the "whine" was the jet-engine-like noise of the turbo spooling up and was normal? Especially since it got louder when I replaced the stock air intake with the KN cone.

The whine is normal. If it becomes a screech that's a different story.
