I had to remove the hood to get the motor in and now its time to align the hood. Noooo we didnt mark the hinges. ARGh!! Anyway what is the best and quickest way to align the hood?
1986 Turbo Coupe. Boport StageIII head, Boport 2.1, Performance Techniques 50 trim hybird, StageII.63, stinger 3" exhaust, Phenolic spacer, Boglog header,NPR FMIC intercooler setup, kirban fpr, bigrmotorsports fuel rail, diablo water meth kit, CAI, remote mount TFI, CHE rear adj control arms, MAC girdle, 8.8 rear disc, aluminum drive shaft, H&R lowerings springs Tbird Turbo Specific, y MAS!!

I've done this twice. The first time I lucked right into it. The second time I couldn't buy my way to the correct alignment, even with having marked the hinge mounts. The terms are mutually exclusive for a novice like me.

Luck and beer... if that doesn't work .. more beer.. then you might think you have more luck so try it again  Oh yeah and sometimes the appropriate "magic" words can work too.
I've marked them and forgotten to and I'm running 50/50. Either its dead on the first try or... ummm .. yeah .. its gotta go on cuz I took it offa there!

LOL!! You guys are killin me! Anyway I have the front aligned, its the back that is about 1" to high. How the heck do I adjust that?

It wasn't on a TC, but this was one my dad and I worked on, his truck I think. We marked the hinges on the hood and fender. Then marked the hinges R/L and used the same fasteners in the same spots. We had to slot the holes on the hinges to get it right!! The only thing we can figure is the body panels moved and threw the alignment off. We never did get everything exactly right. Such is the joy of having your workshop also be a classroom for a bunch of HS kids....

the metal on the hinges is somewhat thick, but not very dense. in the process of putting on the hood, or removing it, it isnt hard to accidentally bend the hinges. might look at them real close to see if that occurred...
