Cooling fan control is totally independent of the PCM on an '86, right?

Brian,
if its the same as my 84, which i assume it is. There's a small box underneath the right side dash that is the fan controller. The controller runs a sensor in the head that tells the fan controller to kick on. If i recall correctly. I've had mine independent and on a toggle switch forever.

That's what I thought, Chris. I just wanted to make sure because I'm installing a Megasquirt with no fan control.
Thanks,
B
