F***ing Turbo

This turbo is the hardest thing i think that I have ever tried to get off in my life. After about 2 cans of WD-40 and countless busted knuckles I'm about ready to bring out the sledge and beat the sob off. Any other ideas.

Take the manifold and turbo off as one unit. Once it's out the turbo is alot easier to work at.

Have you tryed to put a little heat to it? If you can take a torch to it and get it a little bit warm and then it should come off. Once things get hot in the exhaust it almost welds together. Your exhaust will normally be anywhere from 300 to 1200 degrease. You don't want to get it to hot as you will warp it. Just enough heat to get it to expand. Give that a try and see what happens.

I'm sure you've tried this, but just in case, here goes: I find that sometimes tightening a nut or bolt just a smidgen is easier (for some weird reason) at first and helps to loosten it up for removal.

I agree. After turbo / manifold is out, soak in PB blaster for a few hours, not WD40, and heat nut/stud up good with a propane torch.

I agree with Jeff, PB Blaster is the way to go...WD-40 is great stuff, but PB will break it loose every time. If you dont want to remove the manifold, spray the bolts 2-3 times daily for 4-5 days and buy a good set of Gearwrenches (ratchet action box wrench) I had no trouble removing the original turbo with that combo.

Have you tried an impact wrench or just a plain ol' ratchet?
