I used the search feature.
I am wondering if anyone here has used a 3inch exhaust into a muffler where it duals out to
2 1/2.
I was at napa today and I seen a muffler on the wall that had a 3 inch inlet, and two 2 1/2 inch outlets..
Would this setup even work on our cars for placement of the exhaust.
I dont like my exhaust right now. It was jerry rigged together and hangs down about 3 inches. It looks butt ugly, and every time I go over a speed bump the damn thing hits..

the stock exhuast setup had a y before the mufflers and then it went into two mufflers. tuesday I am heading to the exhuast shop. My setup is consisting of 3in dp to 3 inch cat reduced to 2.5 before the muffler and single 2.5 out the back. I am putting in a diverter that I can open up and get straight no restriction exhuast just before the cat for the trips to the strip. I would just make sure the muffler is a straight thru design since most would agree that chambered mufflers hinder turbo car performance.

There is no place to put a muffler before you get to the rearend so the 3 in to two 2 1/2 muffler will not work. You have to Y the 3 into two 2 1/2 pipes then use two mufflers in the stock positions. There is only enough room for something small before the rearend like glasspacks or the small round and long mufflers that can be tucked up into the driveshaft hump but it is really close to the driveshaft. You could try the muffler but you will have the same problem you are having now.
