So this old man(50)has got his 'Bird on the road again. Pulled the engine in April, with the help of my good friend Trav. Had been blowing valve cover gaskets under boost, problems with cam follower wear and head issues also.
Anyway had never undertaken something this involved before. Have a good buddy that builds engines for a living that also gave me a lot of help in that area. Put in a Boport 1.5 and had bigger valves installed in a different head as the old was junk. Stock pistons/rods went back in after being cleaned/checked. Crank journals were turned to clean and a proper sized Ring/bearing/gasket kit from NAPA with Sealed power E-441K rings. New Ram powergrip clutch.
So the break in period has begun.
Will definitely need an LM-2 or similar AFR down the road soon. Other changes may happen also to take advantage of the cam.
