Electric Fuel Pressure Gauge Install??

I read the archives and saw someone had hooked one of these to the Scrader valve and it leaked and had a fire.Anyone else have one of these with no problems.Which adapters were used and any sealer or teflon tape used.Gauge is AutoMeter #4363 with sender.Thanks for any ideas...

Yes i do theres a adapter that goes into the fuel rail not schrader valve then will go into a sending unit,I dont have the part numbers but call summit and im sure the will get you the right numbers

I have an adapter AutoMeter#3280 which looks like you need to remove the Scrader valve completely and put this adapter in its place and then put the sender unit on.Does this sound right.I thought you needed the scrader valve to bleed air out of the rail when changing fuel filter to get the car started again...

i will take that back its the valve on the rail u need to remove that,that would be a shrader,i was thinking something different should be about a 1/8 in pipe adapter if im not mistaken u should have more that one valve ,i do anyone else? chime in? are the rails different ? mines a 86.i can get some pics tomorrow if needed

Any air in the syetem will bleed out in the tank after it passes through the return line.
I've replaced several fuel filters and never had a hiccup.

This is an 87 TC and I only see 1 of these valves on the rail.I am just worried after reading this guy said he had a fire after putting an adapter on this valve.

I have one on the rail and another on the line than again mines a little different,i used a small amount of thread sealer not teflon tape and i repeat small amount,remove the one on the rail is what u want about 3\8 wrench then adapter then braided line to sender i dont know what it is really called but its braided fuel line that goes from fitting to sender,flared

I thought the adapter went in and then the sender went right on to that .The sender I have is kinda small.It looks like from the directions that this is the way to do it..Dosent mention any sealer, but I would think you would want something in there.

I know on the sender part it says dont use sealer,I really dont know what type you have , the wires on mine for the sender are not long so i mounted it close to the firewall and added the extra line,as far as mounting it right in the fuel rail i dont know about it,if the directions say it well i guess ,ill try to get pics on what i have

Its an autometer adapter 1/16 to 1/8 npt fitting.It was like $8 so don't break th first one like i did.I over tightened it to make sure I had it sealed.Mine held 40psi for quite a while.
