During a pressure test, I've found that the EGR leaks pretty bad. I've tried another used EGR and it does the same thing. The intake will not stay pressurized because the EGR leaks. I can't seem to find the answers to these questions:
Is this normal? If I buy a new EGR will it leak also?
I'm not looking to block off my EGR at this time.

depends on how bad the leak is. Ive tried four EGR's and they all leaked around the diaphram for the actuater rod. I just removed the EGR and stuffed it when I did my pressure test. the air releasing was so small for me I paid no attention to it.

Anything leaking air under normal boost pressures is a problem and should not be avoided. The EGR should not leak air, though unforuntely most of them do once they get past a certain age. I would replace it with a new one.

Thanks Ryan, that is what I suspected. I will have to replace it eventually, but it's too expensive to do it right now.
