EGR plug, interesting fact.

Unfortunately, a previous owner before me made the decision.  Here are the leftovers:

Ouch.     Just a anecdotal thing.  The PO of our donor car (87) did the head gasket on the engine.  The only 'new' gasket was the head gasket.  He reused all the other gaskets and loaded 'em up with RTV--INCLUDING the exhaust manifold gasket.  Needless to say, we had to scrub clean the exhaust ports.  We still have the old exhaust manifold on the work bench.  It's a mixture of burnt RTV, Old gasket material...one bunch of chard mess.
