WD-40 cuts right through roofing tar, makes sense it would work on road tar as well... I'm in construction industry, and on many occasion have had quite a mess from roofing materials. I've used WD for not only cleaning my hands and forearms but also on my clothes before washing them. Works great! ... Will have to try the alchohol trick, .. definately staying away from the acetone(fingernaili polish remover) though.
