E6 install success

As for the overall job, with all the info and help everyone at NATO gave me and once I got passed my learning curve on all this stuff it was pretty smooth sailing. The biggest PITA's were the EGR connection at the manifold, the amount of room to work in below the turbo and having to remove the A/C bracket to get to one exhaust manifold bolt. I re-used the oil supply line but installed the new MAX psi return which seemed to make it easier to install than putting back the original (which is still intact). The only casualty other than one skinned knuckle was the heat shield (I could not get those nuts off the studs).

The water pump and T'stat installation went fine as well.

Thanks again to everyone for all the input and confidence building. I'll be sending in my membership fee as soon as I get paid. Now, on to the next project.

I forgot to mentioned that all the time on the cold garage floor and all the contortions have made me feel like I've been run over. I haven't done this in along time. I'm glad I got the garage (along with the house) in the divorce.

Thanks.

Yup, it is cold up here, but I do have 80,000 BTU/hr of heat in the garage. The down side is that diesel fuel to run the heaters is over $2.50 a gallon around here, so I dont use the heat that much. Sad

We've actually got a snow day today!! Can you belive it. There's nothing on the ground where I live and 20 miles east they got 3". I know it doesn't sound like much but it paralizes this town. I grew up in NY and my girlfriend is from Milwaukee. We get a good laugh whenever there's weather like this. Hey! I've actually had pipes freeze here.

I guess I just don't know when I have it good, I've been grouchy over the cold cement while working on JR the past few days. Air temperture in the 70's and 80's, though. Big Grin
