Dynomax part number and application question

I'm replacing my blown out muffler and I want to take advantage of the Dynomax rebates before time runs out on me.

1st concern. Is it feasible, and/or worth it to use a stainless muffler with galvanized pipes? I wouldn't normally shell out the $120 or whatever for the stainless muffler, but with a $75 rebate I don't see a reason not to.

If stainless would be the way to go --- what's the difference between p/n 17272 and 17269?

the part number ending in 69 has a bracket attached that may make mounting easier to your oe hanger. The 69 one is actually supposed to be for a stang while the 72 is universal and has no bracket.

Check dynomax.com if you roam around they have PDF files with pics dimensions etc.

I just picked up 2 ultra flo welded they look to be of good quaility and feature a lifetime guarantee. After the rebate my cost for 2 is under 50 bucks shipped to my door. The stainless may last longer but with a the guarantee they offer the non stainless was ok for me

the muffler I'm replacing is a Dyno welded. The weld around the rear pipe entering the muffler hsg. broke and allowed my tailpipe to rotate a few degrees and hit a frame part, plus the "puffing" air leak is not exactly a pleasing sound.

I guess I had forgot about the lifetime warranty, but I have no documentation of the purchase. Think I can still get it replaced?
