Still having overheating problem. But I noticed a little of what seemed like steam comming from under my innercooler. I think maybe a leak in hose or somthing. Question is can I pull off innercooler and let car run to check for leaks?
Thank,
Jiggy

Well man,

To answer your question it is a no, you car will not start nor run w/ out the intercooler in place. The easly things too check thoe are the steel looking hoses the run too and from the trubo they may just need too be sured up.

The car *will* run (albeit it irratically) without the intercooler if you disconnect the connection on the VAM, but keep in mind that your engine will not only be letting in unmetered air (because of the VAM being out of the connection), but it will also be taking in unfiltered and potentially harmful air. I would suggest either checking for coolant leaks the best you can while the car's running with the intercooler on or running it for a few minutes until the steam develops, then shutting off the engine and quickly removing the intercooler to check for any leaks. Either way, I doubt that a slight coolant leak would cause your car to overheat (especially during these cooler months and in canada). Have you checked the coolant level and to make sure the radiator fans are working? Either of those problems seem more likely to cause your car to overheat.

Thanks for your input. Yes the fans seem to be working and coolant is up and ok. Starting to think it's the temp gauge it self or sending unit (which will be changed today).
Thanks on the IC question because my dad was just about ready to try it with it off [Image: eek.gif]

I suppose you could get some rubber hose and run it between the turbo outlet and the throttle body to get it to run better. That way you could see the hose connections normally hidden under the IC. Just a way out thought....
