i need to replace my head it is cracked. i was wondering about putting on a dual port head i searched and could find anything directly about installing a dual port. i can get a complete head and parts to put it in i just dont know if i should or if i should keep looking for a stock head that might be good.

i'm pretty familiar with the "SPI 2000" 2.0 97+ escort/focus motor (also the 2.5/3.0 duratec)
the SPI 2.0 is a 2-valve so more similar to the ranger SPI
someoen MUSTVE done this swap ?

I have no idea what you mean by "dual port" because no such head ever existed for a 2.3 Lima engine. All I can come up with is that you are talking about a dual plug head (which would have been on the Ranger). Do a search for that instead and you should find some info. It uses a different intake manifold that doesn't clear the distributor so you'll need to also convert to DIS ignition if you want to use that head.
Oh, and the 2.5/3.0 duratec share nothing with our engines...
