DS harmonic balancer

I'll be taking the driveshaft to the shop for u-joints and a balance. Should I ask them to remove the balancer on the yoke? It doesnt feel loose, but the rubber is cracked and dry looking.

Sir i have an Aluminum custom shaft with no balancer. But it is very good to leave it on a stock shaft. I have removed them on some cars then had the shaft balanced with no issues. But sometimes removing it is a bad IDEA Thank you Sir

I remove them with no ill results. To me they are just unwanted rotating mass.
