Probably not. Why do you want to drop your idle?

Did you try *setting* the idle? That's usually the best place to start before randomly drilling holes [Image: smile.gif]

My car for months was idling like crazy, going up to 2000 or above sometimes, randomly moving about. Replaced the Throttle positioning sensor ( TPS ) and fixed that, the engine light, and my random stalling when I was shifting into neutral.

127k miles in January when I bought it for $200. 138k now. A few mods for more power in the planning. (:

Wow. Please, in the furure, promise you will ask here BEFORE doing ANYTHING. Drilling holes in the throttle plate is way off. Would probably cause more 'imbalance' in the way the car runs, since these things are full of sensors that actually control how it runs. Ask here, and ye shall recieve..........good advice. Please.

Drilling a hole in the butterfly will let MORE air in, which will increase idle speed even more!

I agree with Jeff, more air = higher idle. I had an similar idle problem and it would stall in traffic situations because i would let off and push the clutch and brake and it would stall unless i put the clutch in, brake in, and sort of got the gas pedal to keep it running. I talked to a good ford mechanic that knows these cars, and he said clean the trottle body. So i got carb cleaner and sandpaper and scotch pad and cleaned the small amount of carbon from inside the trottle body and it worked perfect again. Seemed to be rediculous that would make a difference but it did. Try it, doesnt take long and its very cheap. Good luck.
