Mine are faulty the upper clip falls down so when I close the door it hits the post on the door jam and gets stuck to the point that I have to tear the rest arm and door trim off and take the assembly all the way out What a pain.. Will it ever stop oh well.. are junk yard replacements OK or are the replacements avail.?

Did you check your hinges, maybe they are worn and making your door sag?

A junkyard replacement should be fine. I don't know about new ones - I've only seen the striker bolts for sale (autozone).
Did you hear about the Lucas powered torpedo? It sank.

ahhh, door lock assembly, not door lock actuator.... I was responding to a non-working acutator, which I can tell you how to fix, but thats not your problem...
Note to self: Must read issue better before responding...

Are you talking about the actual latch assembly that catches on to the door striker?Did yuo try to clean it ou treal weel with WD-40 or brake parts cleaner and then lube it back up with white lithium grease? Some times the grease that is on them get old and gets so much dirt and crap stuck to them, they start to bind up.

YUp pulled the whole assembly out of the door sat at the picinic table in the back yard with a beer or 3 and cleaned and lubed it. BUt I think one of the recoil springs was damaged and now doesnt have the strenght to pull the latch hook back 0utta the way completely when I open the door so when I close it the hook drops down and hits striker bar and jams. Then I have to lift on the outside door handle and use a screwdriver to to pry up the hook.
