Hello Gents,

Long time no speak. I took my 87 out of gararge after sitting most of winter and like usual had to have multiple things go wrong. I have fixed them all except one. I closed my drivers side door and the plastic bushing around the door latch pin (I'm not sure of the exact part name)shattered. It is possible to replace, or is this some part the has also been obsoleted? It really make a bit of noise now because the door rattles a bit with out that bushing in place, also sounds horrible when closing the door. Any iadvice would be helpful.

Hey Eric, I took some 1/2"( i think it was 1/2") clear REFRIGERATION HOSE and cut it to length of the striker bolt and split it down the side and used liquid nails to hold it and that solved my problem. I think it cost me .29 cents. I had the liquid nails lying around.

BTW the only reason I did that was I couldn't find one of those strikers. Since now I see where to get it I think I may just go get one.

I bought those Dorman aftermarket door strikers and they made a world of difference in how tight they close and how they sound when they close ---"clunk".
