I don't know exactly what kind of glue holds them on but my local Ford dealership said they couldn't be repaired because of some silicon residue that would be on the window after the sticky thing fell off. They also said that I'd have to get a new window for $300!! They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I went to the local salvage yard, but I didn't buy a new window. The guys took my window out and restuck the little thing with no problems and did it all for $20.

Huh? Plastic glass thingies? If you mean the small plastic circles that are where the window is attached to the frame, then from the factory they are not stuck with anything, they are held on by the rivets that hold the glass. I usually replace the rivets w/ stainless bolts if I have to replace the glass. If these aren't what you are talking about, PLEASE be more S-P-E-C-I-F-I-C..

There are some things you can do to enhance the holding power of whatever adhesive you use.I got some stuff from NAPA. It came in twin tubes and you mix it. Clean the glass where the plastic thing attach with acetone or lighter fluid before putting the glue on.
Rough up the galss with emory paper where it fits into the plastic fingers. Drill about 3 small holes in both plastic fingers (front and back) for each location. This gives the glue someplace to adhere to. Also clean and grease the sliding mechanisim for the window.
I believe binding/dirt in the sliding parts may be responsible for a lot of the windows that come unglued

Petes' right on! My passenger side window was all screwed up, luckily I've got a friend in the auto glass business. A previous glued it with silicone or something? Anyway, he pulled the window out, scraped the "glue" off, prepped the window and the plastic goody with "something" and glued the window back in with black urethane. haven't had a problem since. check with a local auto glass shop, my buddy said it shouldn't be more than 75-100 bucks.

Did both sides of mine years ago and still holding. Get 2 of the Loctite rearview mirror repair kits. Clean the class as instructed in the kit. Use one tube for each point and just squirt it in the
plastic channel. Run the window up tight to
the top and let it set for 24 hrs.
