I will be attempting to replace my ball joints tomorrow. I have read throught the threads on the subject, and I feel that this is my problem. It will be my first attempt at such a feat, but I feel fairly confident that I can get it done. Any last minute tips would be greatly appreciated.

Its not that bad, it took me a couple hours. You have to rent a ball joint press at autozone to get them out and in.

Yes, I have, and it would indicate that they are badly worn. I rented the ball joint press yesterday from autozone, so I guess I will be all set this afternoon. Thanks guys.

If you're planning on taking the control arms off too, remove / reinstall the balljoints while the arms are still attached to the car -- this makes it much easier.
Also, you will have to apply quite a bit of pressure to the press. If you can, grab a hollow bar big enough to fit over the end of the press arm, that way you can get much more leverage.
After it seems you can't tighten the press any more, keep tightening and eventually the balljoint will make a loud pop as it is pressed out.
