It was then "stalling out" im not sure the driving term for overboosting would be but im pretty sure thats what was happening. Then as im pulling into work I get a bunch of smoke under the hood and oil everywhere. Im hoping its just the valve cover gasket that might of blew out in the back and not something more serious. The last VC gasket I got from ford didnt have the steel skeleton and was just rubber so maybe thats what it is.

Same exact thing happened to me
After replacing the vc gasket that didn't cure my prob
It ended up being either the oil pressure switch and line
I replaced it with stingers oil feed line and a new switch and that finally fixed it
If your spewing oil from the rear of the engine that might your problem too

I'm gonna crawl under it today while its running. We tried to figure it out last night but it was dark and hard to tell. Ive replaced the oil pressure sending unit because im running a electric sending unit for the oil pressure.

I had a small oil leak on somewhere near the oil drain line or maybe just the gasket idk. Its possible it finally exploded hopefully not. The only other possibility might be the rear main seal but the clutch seemed to grab fine.

If it is the oil lines to the turbo IIRC haven't some people had some fitment issue's with stingers oil lines in the past? Im running an IHI on a stock header.

Found out the culprit tonight. Had nothing to do with overboost lol. Stupid turbo oil feed line had a hole in it. I pulled off the old one and I'm gonna try to figure out a braided line instead of a stock line.

I run Stinger's line and had no issues with install at all. I don't see why it would be any different with an IHI. Before I got that I used a Lowes special oil supply line - in the form of a copper pipe I bent to fit...

My buddy has a mint stock IHI line hes giving me which kinda works out because im down a vehicle and I need it back on the road ASAP. But im sure ill have to go the path of the stinger eventually. Would a stock feed line support enough oil to feed say a t3/t4 or a holset? Or is stingers a bigger diameter ?

If it is used (at all) you might want to reconsider that. Varnish builds up on the inside of a line, sort of like plaque in you arteries. When it drys out, from sitting with no oil in it, then the varnish can flake off when the line is put back in service. The flakes can end up blocking the small oil passages in the turbo.

I found out the hard way on a rebuilt turbo. Didn't last 5K miles. I sent it back to the rebuilder and the autopsy confirmed that is what happened
I wish I had know then. What really hurt was I had NOS lines hanging in the garage at the time. Many shops won't guarantee a new or rebuilt turbo unless a new clean line is installed.

For what it's worth.
