I was told the 86 TC has two fuel pumps like the Mustang SVO. Is this true? Is so, can I eliminate it?

83 & 84 tCs had the 2 pump set up. after that they use the one pump, in tank set up.

yep...99.9% sure it changed during the 85 year. that's one of the many changes that separate the 85 and so called 85.5 model years.
other things for 85.5 and 86...
35 lb injectors (vs. 30 lb on old)
still small vam
square lower intake (instead of old inline one)
E6 exhaust manifold (vs. E3)
1986 TC 5-spd (Red/Red cloth)

So, you're saying the 86s had the E6 manifold? I have a 100% bone stock 86 and it has an E3 (which is cracked of course)

E3s came on some/all? 86 TCs. They were also standard on 86 SVOs,

My late 86 has an E6. Seems a lot of little things were slip streamed into 86.

My '86 also has an E6. All of the printing is worn off of the door jamb sticker, but I think it was built earlier in the year.

My built in Nov 85 86XR7 had an E6. The junk/rusted to death 85 TC I bought for the engine had an E6. That car was built in april 85 I believe.

I believe is you seen a late 85 or 86 with an E3. Probably changed at some point in the past. 26 years is a long time, alot can happen.
