I would say you paid too much. Should have switched to a T3. A T3 with a .48 exhaust housing will spool nearly as fast as a IHI and will make more power for less money.

I wanted to do a t3 switch but I was worried about modifying the car too much and / or not being able to find parts

Don't worry I've spent thousands and thousands on parts, women and beer over the years. As long as you enjoy life along the way who cares.

thanks for the good words!!! I do like it and its a lot of fun to drive. The guy who I bought it from had it on here and he has numerous other things for sale all at ridiculous prices.... like a shifter knob for 250??

$250 or even more is pretty much the going rate for a new or like new OEM shift knob, believe it or not.

What Jeff said on the shift knob. They been over $300 for years for a new, in the wrapper TC shift knob.

Yep, shift knobs, '87-'88 headlights, and 140mph speedo's are high dollar items these days.

I bought the OEM shift knob new from Ford in 1992 for $75, so they weren’t cheap even then.
As I recall, I looked at 140 mph speedometers also, they were like $150. I didn’t do it, seems like a bargain now.
