Well it has been a few years since I have had to deal with this problem. This car has around 47k orginal miles on it and I wouldnt have thought I would come up on a no start especially when it has had better care than most. The wife called me up this morning and said that the car would not start. It turns over fine and it has a quarter tank of gas. I have not seen the car at all yet and this post may be a little pre-mature but hey I am bored in a cold war era cement building with no windows. The car ran fine last night when she came home. It is not cold here at all. she refused to do anything else to help me solve the problem over the phone. the fuel pump has been acting up for the past few months ie it is about a quarter tank and to accelerate up a hill you get power loss complete guess at a fuel pump. She said she couldnt hear it run but that means nothing coming from a person that barely noticed when i cut the exhaust off at the Cat. I am open for anything I can try when I get home. I tried a search and didn't find anything that helped accept disconnecting the TPS. basically i am asking for your help to run me through the "no start condition" that I used to be so accustomed to.

So far my order when i get home is to...

Try to start the car myself!
Check the fuel level.
Check the fuel pump.
Try the TPS trick i read about.
See if it is getting spark.
Check the disributer.

... may think of more as i sit here. i dunno i am open for suggestions. Oh by the way I turned the wheel over to the Wife in April when I got the new stang. Since then the front suspension has started to squeak, the (orginal) clutch now makes the beloved crickit noise, it somtimes likes to idle at 1500 to 2500 rpms for no apparent reason, and the breaks are squeaking when it turns slightly right. Although i know how to trouble shoot and fix these I have not had much time to fix the above mentioned.

In regards to the spark check, if there is none, make sure the cam turns when it's cranked.

That was the part about the distributer. Take the cap off and see if the rotor turns. This completely stuns me the car is in mint condition and i have no idea why it has a reason to make me mad at it. I really cant wait to get home and dig in, in the nice English rain.

Ya I know. The wife said "can buy""can afford" and "06 Mustang GT" in the same sentence. there was no stopping me. On to the "dead pissed off bird" You know when you mess with a whole bunch of crap becasue you are frusterated? Whell i pushed on all of the wires on the Dist Cap and one was disconnected, turned the ignition on and off a few times to make sure the pump was getting fuel there, and put it on level ground (wife still does not like to put fuel in) and the car started. The I was yelled at for stating that she CAN put fuel in a car before the FUEL LIGHT comes on. The car was parked half on a low curb with the passenger side up. Would it possibly be that the furl pump is going bad if it can get enough fuel to the engine to keep it running if the car was on that slight of an angle?

Low fuel pump won't stay cool...might not be a bad idea to replace it and you gas the car up weekly...

I had exactly the same thing on several occations where "Bill" (My 88 Bill Elliott Thunderbird) would not start in the morning, but later in the day it was fine. I changed the fuel pump and a week later it did it again. Locate the inertia switch in the trunk and hit it real hard so you make it trip, then press the button to reset it... (I did that to mine several times because I was pretty mad) It has never done it to me again and it has almost been a year now. That switch is in series with the fuel pump and after 17+ years of being in the same position, it gets tarnished up and becomes intermittnet. It is there because of the Pinto Syndrome (soft tap in the butt expltion)....
