I had seen a post online about a place called just dashes. That restores dash panels as well as door panels etc. I went to their website and filled out a form to get prices for my 87tc. Here is what they sent me:
1987 Thunderbird dash pad restoration $800 in black, $850 in a color. Door
panel restoration $500 each, including arm rest pads. Console resto. $400 in
black, plus color. Need cores.

I dont think I will be using them!!! You could easily spend $2000.00 with them and not touch the seats, headliner or carpet!
GEEZ!

Not to mention pulling a TC dash is a major PITA. Has anyone else used the aftermarket dash covers? I'm talking about the ones that are the same finish as the OE dash. I've been converting my interior from red to gray and I dread doing the dash. I thought about just putting a gray cover over the top part, and having sort of a gray/ red interior theme. Since there are red accents on the exterior molding it should look nice

That's insane! I could locate you a nice used one for no more than 150 bucks. That's pretty sad that they would even try to charge that price for ANY dash. SHEESH!!

I would think that a NOS (new old stock) dash pad would be less then that! Would be hard to find one I am sure but couldn't be THAT much! Mine has a few small cracks and I would have been happy to have a restored pad but not for that kind of cash! I only paid $500.00 for the car! [Image: biggrin.gif]

I think Pete may have a dash cap ? Man, JC Whitney sells them for not too much.

Coincidently, I was trying to repair some of the CRACKS in mine yesterday with a vinyl repair kit... It didn't come out great but it's better than the NUMBER of cracks that were there...

There is a company that sells thin overlays in OEM colors that slide over the top part of the dash. I cant remember for sure, but I think you can find them at www.dashtops.com or something like that.

Just checked the site out again. You can order on line for $99 in black, or for another $12.50 get it dyed.

I think there is a link at the Tbird Ranch to some place that has a version of the cap Jeff was talking about. I have a cover on mine to keep it from cracking further (one so far)
