Fond an engine to work on and is a 2.3 turbo - I removed the valve cover and I can't get the head bolts to even budge - I was going to send the head out to get it redone - I was full bore into turning it (and I'm a big guy) but those suckers would not budge. Any ideas????

I use a 1/2" breaker bar that is about 2 feet long, and a piece of pipe about 1 1/2 feet long slipped over the end to give about a 30" long lever arm. Even then, it takes a real good yank to break them loose.

If you have a floor jack remove the lever and slip it over a wrench this will give you a good 2 1/2' pry bar and those bolts will come right loose. Don't hurt yourself.

i went through that yesterday. get a 1/2 inch ratchet, with a hollow bar to pry. those bolts are bitches. the second from the front on the left side took me two busted knuckles to get off. on the bright side, i finally found a good head, which is sent off for a valve job as i type. u are just gonna have pull the hell out of them man, basically.
oh yeah, i think is was a short well 13 mm socket that got it off for me, with a short extension, but whatever it was, IT HAS to have be a 12 star, not 6. the 6 points just slip off. good luck man.
