Damn Rabbits

Any of ya'll have that problem of hitting that acational rabbit, dog, or the freakest hit run on a buzzer(the big blackbird the eat the road kill from earlier passings). And these little critters rip the front air dam off? If ya'll have what is the best way to fix the dam again? I myself have found another one off a 87. But I want and need to reinforce it before I hit Thumper again. And if you think where in a hell I live, Its in the sticks and backroads of East Texas. Hungry for roadkill, finger lickin' good?

If you reinforce it too much it will then tear out the bumper cover it mounts to.
Maybe you should try to spring load it on hinges???

The problem I have is the ribs underneath also have torn making it harder to reattach the dam and ribs back to the bumpercover.
I have at one time use some thin tin and pop ribets but the ribet themselves pullled through the plastic itself. Im think about trying to use expoxy and the ribets again with a little more engineering skill?

Those Texas rabbits must be BIG!

I ran over a big racoon with the 93 Cougar once. When the front tire hit it, I felt a slight bump accompanied by a loud "PHFFTTT!", then almost nothing when the rear tire hit it.

I ran over a groundhog with the rear wheel my mom's Kia Sephia once, the rear end shot up in the air and landed digaonally, causing the tires to chirp. The groundhog got back up and walked away.

Gotta love those 3600-pound, roadkill-flattening American cars. [Image: smile.gif]

I ran over a squirrel once.
Literally right over top of him.
He must have thought it was a low flying jet. [Image: smile.gif]
He ran out on to the road, then went back the other way, then back out again. Then all the way across, then back to the middle.
I was pickin a lane and he kept playing chicken with me so I buzzed him.
I looked in the rear view and he was sittin there wondering. What was that?

I say you should mount "pitch forks" on the airdam. Then they will no longer hit it. Just clean the forks off once a week [Image: smile.gif]

If i do that then I run into the problem of looking like something off of the movie "Roadwarrior". And i will think Im Mel Gibson or something. Oh I wish I was him then I will have all the ladies. [Image: wink.gif]

Who cares about rabbits?

I'm always trying to catch/run over stupid road runners! They're FAST!
