Damn Cooling Fans

I've been looking at old posts and wondering about getting my fans to work. Yesterday when I did a koeo with my scanner hooked up my 4 blade fan ran during the whole test - but the card was hot then. Later that night - I did the same test and the fan would not come on at all. I also saw that while reading the old posts - the the ETC was most usually the culprit. Do you need to remove the intake - it seems awfully damn hard to get any tools in there - got any more tips - I want to use this car but I can't without the fans working properly - Could there be a fuse in the fuse panel that controlls any of this???

There are no fuses, just two fan relays in the ircm (integrated relay control module) which is the big black box on the front of the passenger side strut tower.

To change the ECT you are best off to remove the upper intake and TB as a unit. A socket will not go over the elect. connector part so smash it with a hammer and then it's either a 22 or 24mm socket to remove the old one. The ECT runs about $32 at Ford.
