Hey guys, I just picked up a new transmission cross member and mount, the mount is a polyurethane(energy suspension part# ENE 41104 R) and it works great but my question is the old cross memeber has the 2 side bushings(left & right) and on the driver side it has another one made out of rubber bolted on the cross member with metal running through it. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE HELL THIS DOES I have another one just like it at the end of my transmission, the new crossmember does not have the holes to bolt on this mount, If anybody knows what it does ,should I tapp the holes and install it or should I toss it? I talked with Pete and his TC doesn't even have this rubber mount has anybody seen this mount on there TC before?

Are you talking about that skidpad thing? I got one of those on my crossmember and will be hooking it when I get a new mount.
Is yours an auto or manual trans?

Do you have a picture of it?
From your description it sounds like it could be one of those vibration dampners Ford used in their never ending quest to lessen NVH. My '85 has one of these mounted to the rear of the transmission. Kind of a U shaped piece that is bolted to the tailshaft housing. There was also a dampner bolted to the original 7.5 rear end housing. The 8.8 TC rear that I have in the car now didn't have one though.
