I was watching a special on Tbirds at 1:00am last night on the history chan. They talked alot about the new tbird and how it was the result of a bunch of tbird fanatics bugging the crap out of ford. I know this may sound crazy but between nato and turboford we should all start bugging ford to come out with a new re-styled turbocoupe. Just think about it for a second it is a long shot but it could happen. Just picture say a Duratec HE 24 valve 3.0L V6 already pushing 200hp with a t3/04 on it. If a six banger dont float your boat how about the new Duratec 2.3 with a t3/04 on it. So if anyone gives a crap lets start getting ppl to bug ford. Last but not least dont flame me to much for this it was just a vision in a dream.

Sounds ok.
I vote for the new 4 banger in a light weight package, no back seat, IRS, with at least 300hp so we can modify it to 350-375.
Something a little bigger than say a Miata.
A good back roads burner with style.
Something that say's to WRX, we don't need no stinkin allwheel drive.lol

Ford needs to do something! As much as I hate to say it the imports are coming off the lot faster in faster "in 1/4 mile ET that is." There are already a lot of arrogant WRX drivers hitting the streets around here who need to be taught a lesson.
Whats next 10 second grocery getterz!

Ford seems to be spending all their efforts on the truck/SUV market, which, right now, is where the profits are. One of these days, the truck / SUV market will take a nose dive, helped along by the economy souring and gas prices holding near $2 a gallon. If they dont start putting some serious development work into cars, they will fall so far behind they will never catch up. I have heard that the next gen taurus is going to be some car/SUV hybird. Give me a break... not everyone in the world wants a stinking SUV that cant get out of its own way, handles like crap, and gets 12 mpg in the city. As for the new Tbird, which is an impractical every day car, the only people buying them are 50 year olds with more money than brains. Seriously, how many of us here can afford to fork out $40 large for a toy. Certainly not me, and I make damn good money, as does the wife. Any low volume production car, like a new TC, would have a similar price tag to that of the new Tbird.

I have finished my rant now.

Why not add a turbo to the 3.9 V8 on the new ones and slap on a 6 speed short throw manuel transmission?
