Couldn't Have Picked Better Company

Just got back from doing a Mustang Show in Carrollton, Kentucky and if your weren't a Mustang, you got placed in the "Special Interest" Ford Class where they used the Popular Vote thingie. Anyway, yours truly got parked between three Shelby Cobras. I sorta looked at the situation and wondered what in the heck was I doing parked there but then again, if you were going to pick some special company to show besides, I guess you would pick them since they draw a crowd by themselves. On another note, they also had a early model Mercury Comet (68-72?) that was as "Plain Jane" as you could get. The only identification on the car was a 2002 insignia on the rear quarter panels and three small bars on the front fenders which had underneath them "427." Turned out to be a factory 427 with 2 four's and a 4 speed. What a stop light sleeper!

I would have love to see the 427 Comet. I got to watch some 427 factory drag cars from the 60s run in Columbus last weekend and that was a treat. One of the went 7.8 at 176

The Shelby Cobras were a little too pricey for my blood (and poocketbook). The most original one was for sale for $128,000. The other two were reproductions out of Ross, Ohio and I know they bring a high price.
You got pictures coming your way Pete! Got some pictures of the 4 SVO's that were there and some pictures of the Comet. I mean this thing was a factory work of art (no radio, etc.). Course it belonged to the same guy that owned the $128,000 Cobra so who knows what he wanted for the Comet.
