Cooling fan replacement

Hello,
I just bought a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo coupe. I am curious if there are modern direct cooling fan set that fit with the old brackets and power supply matching plugs. I can replace the old cooling fan motor easily. I was thinking that a newer fan set would look good and cool really better than the old style

I installed a Gnari Performance 3 core aluminum radiator a few years ago. You can get the radiator with their dual 12" fans and shroud (highly recommend). The fans do have to be wired in (pretty straight forward) but the radiator itself pretty much bolted in. One of the upper supports was a little off center but I made it work. The cooling is excellent. Drove it home 3 hours straight from Carlisle this past weekend in 90+ degree heat with several instances of bumper to bumper traffic and I don't think the water temp ever got above 205 degrees. Cruising on the highway; I was around 186-188.
88 Turbo Coupe: Front mount intercooler, MGW short throw shifter, full coilover conversion, tubular control arms front and rear, svo front brakes, vacuum assist brake swap, manual steering swap, GT35R turbo with external gate, pimpx ecu, 60lb injectors, 3 core aluminum radiator, Boport 1.5 cam, gutted upper, corbeau fixed back seats, and the list goes on.

Lynski,
Some have swapped in the Thunderbird Supercoupe fans, some have used the Old early 90's Taurus fans, others have made others fit as well. I do not know of any direct fit, same plug fans though as each of these mentioned will require some form of modifying. But in actuality, the stock dual fans are pretty effective at cooling. The primary comes on when the coolant temp sensor reaches around 210, and if the car needs more, the secondary will kick on and provide full cooling. I have never seen the secondary fan come on unless I was running the A/C on a hot day. Personally, I think the stock set up looks good, works good, and fits, but the biggest item to go bad is the coolant temp sensor in the intake between the fuel injectors. Many of the aftermarket ones seem to be either calibrated poorly or just don't play nice with the computer. Mine had issues where it would go right into the red and the fans would never kick on. I trouble shot everything, relays good, fan check good, put a new sensor in it, never worked as original until I went to a junkyard and got a factory Ford sensor from an older Crown Victoria 5.0. Put that in my TC and it has worked fine for the past 2 years, even driving around here the past couple of days, it has been in the upper 80's low 90's, the gauge would go up to the top of the normal, fans would kick on and go back down. Now the accuracy of the factory temp gauge is another story on these cars.
