Recently I bypassed my second leaky heater core. I have decided not to replave it again..its just too involved and the replacements dont seem to last. And anyway, I never drive the car when it is cold enough to need it.
In the process of bypassing I accidentally broke a sensor that is screwed in tight to a kind of T joint little pipe that connected to one of the lines coming from the core. I had assumed it was the coolant temp sensor, so I went to the parts store for one.. however what they gave me was similar but not same. Also, I have seen graphics and pics showing the coolant temp sensor in a totally different location. But since I broke the ine that is there, I have no temp reading..
Anyway.. wondering if I am correct about that being the temp sensor and if anyone has a part number (88 Turbocoupe) for replacement. Also wondering if its possible to get the little T pipe its in because it is stuck fast in it and the metal on the pipe I dont think will withstand the pressure required to free it.
thanks!!
