Control Arm Bolts

Is there any trick to getting these damn things out. I am pulling my rear out of my parts car and I got everything else out of the way except the upper and lower control arm bolts. I had my impact wrench on them but couldnt budge them, the wrench has about 400ft/lbs of reverse torque. I tried using a breaker bar over a socket wrench and broke the wrench. Only thing I could do is I sprayed them down with PB blaster before I finished up yesterday and they are soaking now still. Is there anyway I can somehow cut the control arm off or anything? The car needs to be outta here by Thurs. and I just want to get the rear out before it goes so I'll do whatever I need to get it out. I was just seeing if anyone knew something that would help in breaking them bolts loose. I got the nuts off the lower control arm I just cant get the bolt out. thanks

You may want to try heating them up with a torch or your regular butane/propane torch(Used to soldercopper pipes). That sometimes has worked for me in the past when all else fails with a VERY LARGE BREAKER BAR .

Good Luck.

I'm going to bet the bolts (at least the lowers are fused into the steel sleeves..and you may have to cut the heads off. The uppers usually don't get as corroded, and I have never had any trouble with those, but I've had lots of trouble with lowers before..mainly at the axle end. Try heating them up...but even if you get the nuts out, you still may need to pound the bolst out of the bushing sleeve. They might be easier to get loose at the body end and then either work on them out of the car, or if you need to have the car rolling and have an extra set of arms, you could always chop the ones in the car up, and use the spare set to install an axle to roll the car on.
Not really sure what your situation is though..

I sprayed some more PB blaster on them today and I'll get a chance to work on it again on Tuesday. The car is sitting on stands right now and my gf's cousin own a tow truck and he said hes just gonna drag it onto the flat bed so I am not gonna be putting a rear back in. So chooping the arms off would be an option but all I have is a sawzaw would that work if I heated them up rear good? I just need to be get the rear outta there because hes coming on Thursday and it would be a waste to leave a good rear in the car, especially since I could use it to replace the 7.5 in my 85TC. thanks for the replies

Are you talking about using the Sawzall to cut the arms in half, or the bolts?

I think you'll have an easier time halving the control arms.

I just dropped my rear out of my 88tc and the control arm bolts are a PITA..
I tried for 2 days after work drinking beer and thinking. Pb blaster didn't work, broke wrench's, impact gun didn't cut it either. So i resulted to a cutting torch man those controls arms didn't stand a chance.

You should have no problem cutting those arms in half with a saw-zall.i actually cut a set out once with a hack saw, they are really not all that sturdy.
