^^^ +1 to boht the above comments....

Be sure you moved the pins in the 60 pin connector to the correct locations for the 83 EEC. You MUST use the small VAM and 30 lb green top injectors with the 83 EEC.

So you put an '88 motor and wiring harness into the '83? What did you do - splice what you needed in to the factory harness? Are you still using the '83 EEC connector?

To move the pins in the connector you have to pry out the red thing that surrounds the pins. After that's out you can access the plastic "fingers" that hold the pins in. A tiny screwdriver will work, but be careful not to break any of them.

Yes 88 motor and harness into 83 and spliced in what needs to be from 83 into 88 harness I moved a few wires around according to Pete's pin diagram he sent me. Someone said have to use injectors out of 83 is this what I need to change have power to everything and fuel and spark but no fire

You need to use the injectors and VAM appropriated to the EEC you are going to use,

1983 EEC = small injectors (green tops, 83,84 85) and small VAM (83-85)

87-88 EECs = large injectors (brown tops 87-88 TCs) and big VAM (from 87-88)

Answered one of my own questions no wire from 83 computer for boost control solenoid so it probably don't care if I don't have one
