I was looking up some previous threads on coil springs, and came across the website Coilsprings.com. It caught my attention because they said you can special order springs at stiffer rates/lowered etc. Any word on the quality/price of these? I just submitted the form to request a quote, but what has been your experience with them? And if you ordered stiffer, how stiff did you go? If I don't end up going with these, i'll probably just buy Moog.

Also, I was thinking the job to replace them was a little easier than what I've been finding in the manuals. Is it really necessary to remove the tie rods and also the control arm bolts to change the springs? That's really frustrating because I just replaced my steering rack and had an alignment...I really don't want to pay for another alignment. I would obviously rent a spring compressor...but how hard is the job?

Removing the tie rods simply allows the control arms to lower somewhat more, relieving some additional pressure on the springs. Put your spring compressors on while the control arm already is putting pressure on the spring and then lower the control arm. I would not think you would need to take the control arm bolts out. Be careful though. Those springs are under tremendous pressure when compressed.
