Okay, i went out and bought a cheapie code scanner today ( thanks for the tip Tony!) and these are the codes i got:

KOEO:14,41,65
ER:41,74,77

I have looked at the chart posted in the tech articles, but can anyone help me understand them? would any of these result in my lack of power/pick up?
code 74 doesnt even appear on the list. i scanned the codes 4 times (just to make sure i was doing it right)and they were all the same each time.

Thanks for any help! :-D

14 = intermitten lost of PIP signal. The PIP or TFI could be on the way out. ignition miss or stalling when hot and not restarting until cooled off are charteristic indicators.

Did you get this and the other KOEO codes as KOEO or as Continous Memory codes?

41 = 02 sensor always seeing a lean A/F, not switching. This could be the 02, but further investigation is needed. There are other things that can make the car run lean - weak fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, bad FP regulator, others. The EEC will compensate the A/F to some degree and normally the mixture continously switches from rich to lean ( within a narrow margin) Might want to check the fuel pressures

65 = either the charging system spiked over 17.5 volts or it's telling you the engine control system never went into closed loop.

74 = you didn't step on the brake pedal when you were suppose to, don't worry about it

77 = operator error, don't worry about it.

I beleive they were KOEO. key was in the on position engine NOT running. how do you do the continuous memory?

a couple of times i think the power surged because the blinking light flickered and the beep was broken up. like some kinda power flux. when the scanner i got begins its check, is it normal for it to give you a one at the beginning of the test? not an eleven, but a 1

The continous codes are displayed after the KOEO codes. KOEO codes are displayed twice then there is a long pause and then a seperator flash, another long pause then the CM codes are presented twice.

If you got a book with the scanner, read it so you will know what to expect.

Matt,

If ypou disconnect the batteryt for 20-30 minutes, that should clear all the codes in memory. Then you can run your tests again & see if the same codes come out. Good luck & call if you need help...I'm only around the corner.

The code scanner instructions should also tell you how to clear the previous codes stored on there.Mine does.
