Well after a lot of question asking etc. I went with Cobra Rs from OE Concepts.

17x9s with +20mm offset.
245/45 17s in front
275/40 17s in back.

No rubbing anywhere. The outside edge of the front rims is out more than the OEM. At the top/middle of the wheel well the tire does not stick out. But it is noticebly offset outboard more than the OEM. But there was no way a +24 was going to work. I can just barely get a finger tip between the rim and the sensor wire on the strut.

In the back the rims and 275s fit just fine. No where near the quad shocks.

Will get some pictures up shortly.

Waiting,.... Should look good. Any rubbing on the fronts at full lock, left or right?

For what it's worth, the rears are going to introduce approx. 3.5% speedo error. You'll be slower than the speedo indicates. The 275/40-17s are smaller in diameter than the 225/60-16s.

Personally, I'd love to see pic of your '67 Fairlane. I really like the vertical hdlights of the '66/'67. If I could afford two project cars I would add one of those to the stable. If you have pics I would like it if you sent them direct.

Let's see if this works here.....

Appears the photobucket thing will work.

Yes, I am aware I have a speedo error. Next step will be to see what I am going to be able to do about it.

As you can see in the pictures the front rims "stick out" more than I would like but the tread of the tire is not beyond the wheel well lip in the center at the top. But there is ZERO space to have moved them inboard anyway. They JUST clear the ABS sensor bracket and line now.

On my car there is no rubbing when the wheels are turned full lock either direction.

PM your email address and I will send more pictures and some of the Fairlane. Right now the Fairlane is "under construction". I got it painted over a year ago and am piecing it back together now. Some trim and the grill are still off the car and the interior is gutted in preparation for a complete new interior.

Thank-you! I still have a lot of detailing I would like to do in the engine compartment and the paint isn't perfect by a long shot. The 20 year old paint isn't what it used to be! <G>

But the paint still looks good in the pic. I know what you mean though, when you have to look at the paint up close.
Great look though.

TCx2, do you have anymore pictures? How much more do the fronts "stick out" compared to rears? I might be making a 300k trip next weekend to pick up some 17x9s with +20mm offset 245/45 17s on all four. They should fit right?

They should fit. As I said above, they were REAL close on the front but just fine on the back and I had 275s in back. I emailed you some more pictures.

Okay thanks. Are the wheels much heavier then the factory snowflakes?
