Earlier in the week I dropped my bird off at the dealer to have them put a new slave cylinder in. I was hoping that this would cure my lack of travel in my clutch pedal. Well the good news is that my slave was indeed leaking from the seals. The bad news is that when the tech took it for a test drive the slave popped right off of it's bracket. Apparently, I am missing a cover that locks the slave cylinder in place. Does anyone have any ideas on where to get one or maybe a picture of what it looks like?

I betting it's obsolete. That means finding a used one from somebody or the junkyard. It's black plastic held on by one bolt. I'll look later today to see if I have any pics of one, but I'm not optimistic.

I thought that was just a cover, and the hydraulic force even with the clutch pedal up, would hold it in?? I didn't think it locked it in place, maybe I didn't look at it that close.

I was kind of thinking that I have seen and heard from people that have run without the cover. I wonder if you mechanic got it in correct. No it does not lock in place but it should not just fall out either.

I've run mine for years with no cover without problems. I'm thinking your dealer doesn't know how to put the slave cylinder in properly. Once you slide it in, you have to twist it 90 degrees to lock it in.

Hopefully next time you need to verify something under the hood- it wont be so well concealed.

I stopped by the dealer Saturday. They're more than willing to put it on a lift for me today or Tuesday so I can snap better pictures. I got this one laying down in their storage lot.

It looks to me like it needs to be rotated around almost 180 degrees. What do you folks think? Also the two notches seem to indicate that a clip of some sort slides in.
