Clutch change went well, thanks for all of the posts...

I changed the clutch this weekend in my '88 and all went well. I was able to find all of the info I needed here, including little things like "which way does the seal go on the pilot bearing" and "how do you install the rear main seal".

I did change the rear main seal, and the tranny front and rear seals. The flywheel was shot (lots of large cracks) but new ones are pretty cheap. The new clutch (Luk stock replacement) feels great so far, but I will say that the pickup point went from just barely releasing at the top end of the pedal travel to down by the floor. I think that change was all due to clutch wear.

Anyway, thanks for all of the great data on this site!

the flywheel is probably still good. those cracks are heat checks and are normal. resurfacing the flywheel clears them up....only to return again later after the clutch has heat cycled a few times.
