Climate Control/Idle Issue

Noticed that the car when its cold bounces in idle like its going to die, but never quite does. Doesnt happen sitting at a still idle only when its driven and taken out of gear, my wife and I also noticed it goes away when we turn off the climate control switch. Once turned back on the bounce in idle returns. Also after it warms up the problem goes away, its 7 degrees outside this car has never driven great when it drops below 20. Using that 15w-50 synthetic mobil 1, thinking maybe thats probally not the best thing to run in these extreme cold temps we have here.

15W50 is way too thick for the kind of temps you have up there in the winter. I run M1 15W50 in my TC during the summer when temps rarely get below 55 deg, but in the winter, I run M1 5W30. With your temps, you might even consider M1 0W30 for the coldest months.

Thanks Jeff! I thought that was the case and a good reason why I'm getting such hard starts in these temps. I found only one place that carries mobil 1 they said they drop nothing but the 5w-30 in the winter and never have complaints, or he could say that cause they dont carry the 0w. Either way 5w-30 should be a much improved difference. If I just start it and go in these temps im just asking for it to act up I have to give it at least 15 minutes to reach just over the blue line on the temp gauge. An added note it cost over 65 bucks to do synthetic oil change in this town now, good enough reason why I try to do it myself, just not in subfreezing temps.
