So - newbie question. My right tail light lense is coming loose. I've tried a bit of RTV since it was black, but that didn't hold.

What is "strip caulk" and where can I get some? I just need to re-attach the lense.

You need to work on the metal clips (bend them) so they hold better. The only strip caulk I am familiar with is a tarry like substance that comes in a 12-14" box.... with rows of this caulk separated by wax paper. The caulk is almost like putty and you can use it as a strip, or make it into whatever shape you want. It doesn't have enough consistency to HOLD the lens etc. together but it is a good waterseal.

Has anyone used 3M Super Urethane? I bet that would hold everything in place. It sure does hold glass in.

Bobby . yes that will work only thing is once you use that it can not be broke loose again , without cracking the lens if you have to ever take it apart again . Take a chance and use it , will work great and seal great, just dont put to much on, dont want to see it thru the lens after the job is all done, I did one set and used it but also used with great care a set of clamps to hold it all firm till it all was well set up . Then it looked great and was never a seal or damp thing again inside the lens , no dirt , nothing inside after all this time . The clips , yes if you spread them out a little more will get a better bite on the lens to hold them there . Hope this helps , good luck .

Bend the clips like TCx2 says, use strip caulk as described with black silicone in the corners.

Worked for me.
