Had the connector off the chime module and a few minutes later the connector fell off and now I have a bunch (10) of wires and have no idea which position they would go in the connector. The wiring manual isn't telling me much but perhaps someone can make sense of it?

As you follow each diagrammed wire into the chime module, the number shown tells you which connector pin (on the module) that wire should connect to. Looks like pins 7 and 9 aren't used, while pin 8 as two black & orange wires. I hope that helps...

I saw your post about the chime wiring and replied, but apparently I am still being modded as a newbie. Which means it probably won't show up for 2 weeks... it's pretty aggravating and I'm tempted to give up here, maybe you can put in a word to the admins or whatever?
Anyway. To figure out where the wires go, follow each diagrammed wire into the "box" on the diagram that represents the chime module. Where the wire inters the box, is a number: that number is the Pin# which the wire connects to. On this one it looks like pins 7 and 9 and not used (I don't see them in the diagram), while pin 8 has two black/orange wires.
To match the pin numbers to the physical device, look for markings on the connector or device. If there aren't any, note the position of blank/unused/keyed pin positions (such as 7 and/or 9 in this case) and count your way over to find pin 1. Then go from there matching the wire colors to each respective pin.
I hope that helps...!

Thanks, There were no markings indicating where pin 1 would be but should be able to figure it out. Two terminals have double wires so that should help along with positions 7 and 9 being blank. Not sure if not having the modules hooked up is causing no IP lights, everything was working before I attempted to remove the wiper governor... problem is the chime module is what I removed and didn't find that our until it was removed and I looked up the part number. When putting it back in the connector dropped to the floor, so strange all the wires fell out???
I did partially remove the IP trying to get better access to the wiper governor but that wasn't going to help. Perhaps I disturbed something or partially unplugged the connector. I wouldn't think the chime module would affect the IP lights so I'll check that again as well as the one single connector on the headlamp switch which shows as the dimmer output for IP lights.
I'll post this to the thread your were replying to and perhaps an admin will see your issue of not being able to reply to posts.

I did get the chime module wiring figured out and see that the reason the wires fell out was the connector was split at one end. IP lights work again, although I had one wire (double black/orange stripe) that was referenced in the wiring diagram as pin 8 but the service manual indicated it was unused so I taped it off for now. That is the door ajar chime which was actually annoying so I will leave it out.
