Hey man i still have your caliper email me your address and i'll get it out, things were crazy around the holidays i went up to Pa and what not. Plus my grandmother is still in the hospital since before turkey day.

Back to the car, was the buzzer of doom due to the gillis control valve? I will play with it this evening and see if i can figure out how it works, and turn it down. They also added an electronic air/fuel guage on the dash could that be causing problems?

Does the check turbo light stay on constant because it was overboosted, and it just saves that code? If so how can i reset the code?

I'm gonna order a chiltons from the parts store so i can have a picture reference for working on some of this stuff. Thanks for your help and being patient with me...

To prevent false hopes, the ABS is not a guaranteed cheap fix. It could be as simple as a broken wheel speed cable (common), which can be easily repaired for cheap. But, for instance, if just one of solenoid valves goes bad (also common), the solenoid valve block unit has to be replaced which is a job, and not exactly cheap (depends on what deal you got for a used part).

The green firm light located in the tachometer indicates when the programmed ride control system is in Firm mode. When the programmed ride control is in the auto mode, the following will set the system to Firm mode:

* Brake pressure is 400 PSI or above
* More than 90% throttle position
* 0.35g lateral acceleration
* Vehicle speed is above 83 MPH

I see ~70%-75% listed elsewhere, but my multiple sources show 90%. To be honest, I'm not sure on that one.

In regard to the check turbo light, it's basically an "idiot" light. It is not monitored, nor does it store or set any trouble codes. It's quite different from the Check Engine light.

In regard to the Chilton manual, be warned that those manuals are not very good, detailed, or accurate. One of the best manuals to have is the Ford shop manual published by Helm. You can probably find a used set for a decent price, and be far ahead of the information that a Chilton contains.

JT is right on the Service Manuals. Chiltons are cheap but you get what you pay for.
You can sometimes find used on Ebay, and at swap meets and there are a few vendors specializing in old service manuals. Pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News to find them.

Here is some info on authorized reprints of the original Service Manuals:

So i can disregard the turbo light?

I'll keep an eye out for the service manuals and will i encounter any braking issues if i dont look into the abs right away?

I found a header panel for reasonable money, and i'd like to get a Bra to cover up the damage to the front of the pass fender. Will all t-bird/cougar lights work on a TC header panel?

As long as it is only the "ABS" light that is on, the regular braking system should work just like it was designed to do, assuming it's in good shape. The only thing that won't work is the ABS part in a panic stop.

Thanks again for answering my endless questions about this thing.

I was just under the car checking things out, it looks like the left rear shock is blown, there's oil all the way down the shock, and some 3 inches either way on the rear end. Aside from that the other stuff looks good, this car is crazy solid (being from pa i'm used to a lot of chassis rust) I'll get some underside pics on later. I also checked somethings out, all of the lights work, siginals, high/low, brake resivoir pump, fuel pump, auto lamp, and the keyless entry pad still works. So i've decided its too clean to not get it on the road.

Here's a link to my public gallery, tons of car pics, but the first few are of the TC including the underside...

And sorry Matt i wasn't ignoring you i forgot to mention it has around 150K miles, and the clutch feels really firm, no smoke or anything like that. I can't wait to get lights and rip it around a little.
