I bought a complete Autometer 3370 wideband kit when I did mine, nothing to convert. I looked at the digital versions like the AEM, and while they are very well rated, I found it much easier for my eyes to track a single needle as opposed to lights bouncing around. I don't believe there are any other analog wideband gauges out there except for the Autometer.

Kuch, I don't think you've converted to a Pimpx yet, but are you planning to and if so will it work with the Pimpx being analog output?  (sorry for my lack of knowledge and perhaps the analog portion is just an output from the digital)

Jeff - The Innovative Motorsports analog gauges looks nice too.  How do you like the pseudo analog on your digital?

I bought the WB for mostly the future when I update the computer although it will be nice to adjust the FPR in the mean time.  Not sure if i want to permenantly mount it in view or hide it somewhere under something (glove box or center console, etc).

I am very happy with my Innovate Motorsports WB. I have had it for 7+ years and it has worked flawlessly. Did have to replace the Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband sensor once. The circular analog part of the gauge really draws my attention if it is changing rapidly and clues me in to look at the digital display to see what the exact A/F is on the digital display.

No, my Pimp is still waiting to go in, basically waiting to swap heads out with the new injectors and intake, and do it all at once. The Autometer has an out wire for sending the signals to any type of datalogger or ecu..

Looks good Kuch!
I got started on a project I've had in the back of my mind for a while now just last night. Part of it is going to be installing gauges similar to what you have though I don't know if I'll put the boost there right away just because I'm strapped and I'm just going to get the three gauge setups for now, I can change it in the future. They are cheap and you get three of them all at once.
I'm planning on getting electrical gauges rather than mechanical just for the ease of installation. I'm also not planning on spending big bucks at all. I'm not planning on doing anything fancy with my car. I just want a water temp gauge that works better than the one on my dash, that's the big thing right now that I'm really needing as the one of my Dash can't be trusted. At the bottom of this post ill include a picture and link to the ones I'm looking at.
What I'm wondering is when you install gauges like these, do the ones on your dash still do their thing or do they just sit there dead? Would I just be tapping a wire that's already heading to the gauge on the dash and now I've got two gauges?

Gauges

There are normally two options.

1) Replace the stock sending unit with the aftermarket unit. This means the stock gauge will no longer work. I don't know of any aftermarket gauge that uses the same values as the stock sending unit. Therefore, you can't repurpose the stock sending unit nor share it.

2) Install a "T" fitting so that you can keep the stock sending unit while also having the aftermarket sending unit.

I suppose there's a 3rd option and that's to install the aftermarket gauge inline somewhere in the system. The TCs that have the automatic climate control have a temperature sensor near the firewall to lockout the heater fan until the engine produces some heat. But when you start doing these latter two options, you can get less accurate readings.

yeah, like JT says, two ways to do them. I also like to have the stock gauges still working along with any aftermarket ones. To use that set up pictured you would have to get a "T" to use the oil pressure gauge and still have the stock one, not a big deal to get. the water temp gauge though on these types of gauges have a rather large temp bulb that needs to be inserted in the water system somewhere. The issue is the mounting depth on those kind of limits the locations where you can install it, about the only place where it will insert all the way is in the location. this means your factory gauge would not be working, also many times the type of threaded insert for that gauge is bigger than the tapped hole meaning more adapters. You can definitely use these gauges, but just realize you have to do some modifications to keep all gauges and those working.

Cool thanks guys. It would be nice to have the old gauges still working. I guess I'll see what that looks like when they get here I ordered them up last night. I'm excited to show off this project. It's going to be very different. Started out just messing around, but now I'm starting to think it's going to look pretty cool!
I wasn't going to put up a picture but here's a teaser photo. I hope the end result looks a lot better!

rob,
That looks like a lot of room for a lot of gauges.

It will definitely have room for gauges as well as some other stuff. My lips are sealed until I actually get somewhere on the project, I'd hate to hype it up then not actually do it Smile
