Anyone familiar with how difficult it is to put an aftermarket CD player into the Premium Sound setup? If I can see correctly, the system is amplified from the factory.
I have my old head unit and a sub that I'd like to install.. just curious how to either incorporate or get around that amp (normally I am used to higher-output systems that are amplified at the head unit and not peripherally)

Put in your old head unit (aftermarket, I assume) and sub and be done with it. The stock "amplifier", and I use that word loosely, is something like a whopping 20 W per channel... worse than a modern bottom end head unit, and its THD is terrible by modern standards.

It should be really easy. Pull out the stock head unit and look behind it off to the right side. There should be another gray connector with 8 wires in it. It might be fastened to another harness back there. This goes straight to the speakers. Drop the panel behind the rear seat and unplug all the wiring from the stock amp. Make up your adapter harness and plug it in. Just make sure to plug it in to the correct speaker harness since you now have 2.
