Don't know what happened to this thead's title, however...
I seem to recall some previous discussion here about getting something NATO logo for a registration table or such for a past Carlisle. I was contemplating putting pictures of my cars and some embroidered logos on a jacket. Then that got me thinking about trade show type promotional logo table covers, chair covers, curtains and the like and what could be done as NATO advertising and tent décor for the Carlisle tent. (Don't mind me. I always have marketing/promotion/sales schemes in my brain, LOL.) Looking at past Carlisle pics, I see you have the NATO and some other banners to hang on the tent.
This is all still rough first pass stage, but assuming you don't have one already, one idea I have is a fitted table skirt for the merchandise / registration table, with graphics and lettering that echo the banner's NATO letters / bird graphic / 2 Turbo Coupe cars on the front. (Maybe a similar one for the picture board table, too, if the picture board is going to sit on a second table. Unless I get totally fed up doing the first skirt, LOL.)
I'm thinking fitted table skirt like the blue “Your Logo†one here (see http://affiliateddisplay.com/skirts.html), except flat front, no gathers, no pleats, just all advertising space. Run a chain through a casing around the bottom hem of skirt for wight, maybe also use a small tent stake under the table at each corner, use cords underneath to tie the top down to table legs so it doesn't do the Marilyn Monroe skirt thing if wind tries to lift it. Leave part of the back side open (no skirt) so you can reach under the table or sit behind it.
$260+ dollars for a logo table skirt is ridiculous. I can sew. NATO letters and the bird can be fabric appliques stitched on. The two TC cars can be laser or ink jet printed on 8.5 x 11 fabric and stitched on, I think, but I'll have to check how much those would fade when washed and/or what to spray on to permanently seal the ink/toner in the fabric.
Table skirt could be single color, or two-tone with or without a third color as a piping welt running around the seam where the skirt is stitched to the top or a band of color around the bottom hem. Could use either 60" wide polyester gabardine (probably better due to weight, it's stain & water resistant if sprayed with Scotchguard, washable, resists wrinkles), or nylon flag fabric. Both of those have some tendency to snag but, hey, stuff happens. Both of those fabric types can be had for $4 to $7 per yard, and I'm going to guess at 9 yds. max per table (assuming an 8' x 30" table with 28" drop) plus $10 to $20 for the printer fabric to do the cars, and a few more dollars for thread, cords, and cheap chain, so mostly what's involved is time and nowhere near $260 for a home-made multicolor home-table skirt with graphics. $75 to $100 tops would get something fancy, reasonably durable, that looks professionally done.
Second idea I have, assuming you don't think they'd just be nuisance is table top covers for the other tables. Long table skirts get in the way of people sitting at the tables, so other tables in the tent could just get covers for the table top. Again, it's just 2.75 yard max of cheap fabric, cut slightly oversized with a drawstring around the bottom and some strings to tie it down to table legs. Kind of like a glorified ironing board cover. Color match to the mdse./reg./ display table. Either leave plain, or decorate with NATO appliqued on and/or the bird graphic or the two cars as the laser printed fabric stitched on.
With any luck Carlisle won't stick us with some ugly GREEN and white tent! Anyone know who we bribe or threaten so we get blue, white, or beige? Yeah, I know...petty...but there's just no green in those Ford or NATO logos. ;-)
If you all don't think table skirt is totally whacko and over the top, let me know NATO's color scheme (black, red, white, and Ford blue??) and the most probable dimensions and height as well as the number of tables you anticipate using and I'll do the math. To actually make the skirt(s), I'd either need to have the actual table(s) or the make and model so I can find it a local store, or exact dimensions, height from table top to ground, and a tracing of the curve at the corner so I can get the top shaped right. I'd recommend using blue or black for the top and skirt and then use the red, blue, or white or whatever for the letters and graphics. White is a bad idea except as an accent because it's too difficult to keep clean and may get permanent mud stains, etc.
I'd also need electronic files for NATO font, the bird, and the 2 cars.
I'd most likely be willing do one fancy table skirt and the table covers as a donation unless my first-pass math is 'way off and total materials cost would run more than $130 to $175. But I don't think they would, even doing 2 decorated table skirts.
Third possibility is a few folding chair covers could also be sewn or purchased, but there's a lot more work involved in cutting, fitting and sewing chair covers. I'm NOT doing those for free. :-D
